Copperband butterfly

The Copperband Butterflyfish, also known as the Beaked Butterflyfish, has a long, narrow nose and mouth used for hunting into crevices and holes for food. The Copperband is very docile and gets along well with other community fish. These fish will also eat nuisance glass anemones (Aiptasia). They are best in a species tank, a community only if it is very large and spacious, but there have been reports success in a reef tank if well fed. Small live foods are best, brine shrimp being top of the list, but they are picky eaters. Sexing: Males may have a steeper head profile. Copperband Butterflies are one of the more difficult to keep fish which are commonly available. Proper quarantine procedures are essential for success.
